Innovation Program (InnoQuest)

"InnoQuest" is designed to be a unique partnership with universities, students and businesses to foster innovation in NE Ohio. The program:

  • Includes an approved course on innovation for graduate students from The University of Akron, Case Western Reserve, Cleveland State, and Kent State.
  • Leads to intern placements at companies that are implementing an innovation, managing innovation, or looking to develop a culture of innovation.
  • Is open to business professionals that would like to participate in one or more classes.

While EDGE coordinates the program, practitioners of innovation (from places like Nottingham-Spirk, Goodyear, Parker Hannifin, and more) help teach and facilitate the fall class sessions and provide access to industry professionals and management teams – utilizing real-world case studies and providing hands-on problem solving scenarios during class sessions.

Interested graduate students apply to The Entrepreneurs EDGE by submitting a letter of interest, resume, and an academic reference from at least one professor.

Qualified students can participate for credit and pay tuition (for an Independent Study or Intern Program) through their host schools.  Students may choose to take the class not-for-credit directly with EDGE.

Classes will take place at the Independence Technology Center (6801 Brecksville Road, Independence, OH  44131).  Goal: 15-20 students.  (Classes are open to business professionals for a separate fee..)

"This program has been a great opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of industry perspectives on a very relevant, comprehensive topic. The caliber of speakers this program affords and the connections made available are invaluable. The learning went well beyond what I learned in the class. It made me think about innovation in new and different ways. It was a well-rounded and engaging experience. I’d recommend it for any major or concentration."

"While talking to my peers about this class I talk about the level of interaction we have with C level managers of companies. I also talk about the different things we learn from classes such as approaches and individual successes which no theory can teach a person. It is a great opportunity to learn and experience a totally interesting field having infinite potential."
